MAC - Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Lissone
From February, 25 to May, 14 the Museo d'Arte Contemporanea of Lissone hosts the sixth appointment with ARC#IVE - an overview on artists's archives organized by All Around Art - dedicated to Arnaldo Pomodoro's archive.
The archive, which today is curated by the Foundation Arnaldo Pomodoro, was created in the Fifties by the artist himself, who started collecting press clippings and documenting his own work. Since the Nineties it has been digitized and today carries out an intensive activity of research, safeguard and enhancement of its rich heritage.
Photos, letters and archival clippings exposed in the exhibition, curated by Lorenzo Respi recount the sculptor's "American period", during which Pomodoro is appointed to teach first at Stanford University and then at Berkeley, and offer a fresh perspective on US society of the Sixties and Seventies, including the Beat Generation, social demands and socially active film-making.
